Peter Stevens joins Wilton Legends speaker line-up

We are delighted to welcome Peter Stevens as a speaker at this year’s Wilton House Wilton Legends: a true legend in design, known for his work on some of the most significant performance cars of the modern era.

He trained in automotive design at the Royal College of Art and began his career at Ford Motor Company, and then Ogle, before later working with Lotus Cars to reinvigorate the Esprit for a new generation.

Stevens is best known as the designer of the McLaren F1, widely regarded as one of the greatest road cars ever produced. Prior to that, he was also a principal designer of the Jaguar XJR-15, an early carbon fibre road supercar derived from endurance racing technology, and contributed to the Lotus Elan M100.

His later work includes involvement with MG Rover, where he contributed to the design of the MG TF. His career spans the UK and international automotive sectors – he has played a key part in developing cars for the likes of Subaru, Mahindra, Prodrive, Williams, Toyota, Lamborghini and Rivian. He’s also a seasoned concours judge across the world, with a wealth of experience in design language.

Stevens continues to work across consultancy and specialist automotive projects, bringing decades of experience to both heritage and forward looking programmes. His insight provides a compelling perspective on the relationship between design, engineering and performance at the highest level.
