From the Mulsanne Straight to the Manor: Johnny Mowlem at Wilton House
Words:
The lawns of Wilton House are about to get a serious dose of endurance racing pedigree. We are thrilled to announce that British racing stalwart and European Le Mans Series GT champion Johnny Mowlem will be joining the Wilton Legends 2026 for a weekend of unmissable motor sport storytelling.
With a professional career spent at the absolute sharp end of international sportscar racing, Johnny’s CV reads like a love letter to endurance motor sport. He first cemented his formidable reputation by winning every single race in the 1997 Porsche Cup Great Britain, launching a career that would see him conquer the gruelling Daytona 24 Hours and the Sebring 12 Hours, alongside taking hard-fought podiums at the Le Mans 24 Hours and the Nürburgring 1000km. Here is where you can catch the motor sport legend across the weekend:
Friday: The team-mates reunite

Friday at Wilton House offers a rare treat for prototype racing fans. Johnny will be joining forces with his former team-mate, ex-Formula 1 driver and Le Mans winner Stefan Johansson. The pair famously shared the cockpit of the factory Zytek LMP1 prototype, making motor sport history by securing the first-ever international podium for a hybrid prototype back in 2009. Expect fantastic camaraderie, insider paddock tales and a fascinating look back at the cars that defined their shared era of racing.
Saturday: All things Le Mans

If you want to know what it truly takes to wrestle a GT car through the darkness of the Mulsanne Straight, Saturday is your chance. Johnny will be hosting an open, gripping chat delving into ‘all things Le Mans’. Having documented his incredible motor sport journey for over a decade via a dedicated Sky Sports television series, Johnny is a master storyteller. Pull up a chair as he shares the triumphs, the heartbreaks and the sheer grit required to succeed in the world’s greatest 24-hour race.
Supporting Race Against Dementia

Early in his career, Johnny was personally hand-picked by three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart to join his elite junior single-seater programme, a pivotal moment in his trajectory. Coming full circle, we are immensely proud to host a special session with Johnny in support of Sir Jackie’s global charity, Race Against Dementia.
Titled ‘Driven to Remember’, this session will look at the intersection of motor sport excellence and the race to find a cure. It is a fantastic opportunity to support an important cause championed by one of motor sport’s greatest names, while hearing from a driver whose career Sir Jackie helped launch.
Shaping the future

Today, alongside his continued involvement in the sport, Johnny passes on his decades of elite experience as the co-owner of the Red River Sport agency, mentoring and coaching the next generation of racing drivers.
Whether you are a die-hard endurance fan or simply love the thrill of a great racing story, make sure to join Johnny Mowlem at the Wilton House Wilton Legends 2026.
